1.      Cleaning the Dryer

If you have a dryer in your utility room then you’ll know how dusty this appliance can get. Dust, dirt and grime can also stick to the handle of the dryer. Zoflora is the ideal solution for removing dirt and grime from surfaces. Follow these steps to keep your dryer clean:

  1. Get a 500ml Zoflora spray bottle
  2. Fill the bottle with water
  3. Pour two caps of Zoflora into the bottle, close it and shake it well
  4. Spray the Zoflora solution all over the outside of the dryer
  5. Use a microfibre cloth to wipe away dirt and grime

Ensure that your dryer is off when using Zoflora to disinfect the appliance as per standard Zoflora safety measures.

2.      Disinfecting Washing Baskets

Washing baskets can get incredibly dirty. You may not realise that soiled clothing contains bacteria and can transfer them onto the washing basket.

That’s why it’s important to disinfect your washing basket regularly because germs, bacteria and even viruses can transfer from the basket onto your hands or clean clothes. To keep your washing basket bacteria-free, simply spray it down with Zoflora before and after using it.

Or you can make your own Zoflora wipes and use them to disinfect your washing basket regularly.

3.      Keep Utility Room Windows Clean

Your utility room windows can get dirty from dust, rain and fibres from the clothes that you’re washing or folding in the room. Keep your utility windows sparkling clean by spraying Zoflora onto the window. Use a cloth or squeegee to remove the dirt and excess water from the windows.

Don’t forget to wipe down the windowsills and handles to keep them bacteria-free. If you have curtains in your utility room, you can spray them with Zoflora to kill germs or take them down to wash them. You can put one cap of Zoflora concentrate in the rinse cycle to disinfect your curtains.

4.      Disinfect Door Handles and Light Switches

Door handles and light switches are touched by many hands in your household so they can harbour thousands microorganisms. To keep your utility room door handles and light switch bacteria-free we suggest wiping them down with a cloth soaked in diluted Zoflora. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Fill a small bucket with cold water
  2. Add two caps of Zoflora concentrate to the water
  3. Dip a cleaning cloth into the solution
  4. Wring out the water
  5. Use the cloth to wipe door handles and light switches

Make sure the cloth isn’t drenched when cleaning your light switches. You don’t want to risk water getting behind the light switch and leaking onto the wiring.

5.      Cleaning the Washing Machine

You can use Zoflora to clean the inside and outside of your washing machine. Start by removing washing powder drawers and any other removable parts so you can soak them in a bucket or sink of Zoflora. Simply fill the bucket or sink with cold water and add two caps of Zoflora and then place your loose components into the water.

Now spend time wiping certain sections inside your washing machine such as the compartment that catches fluff and the top of the drum. Then replace all your loose components before starting with the next step.

Most modern washing machines have a self-cleaning function and you can use this to your advantage. When you use the self-cleaning function throw two caps of Zoflora into the water. This will help remove all germs and bacteria through the inside components of the machine.

For the outside of the washing machine, spray it down with Zoflora and use a cloth to wipe away dirt from the surface of the appliance.

6.      Disinfect the Utility Room Taps

If your utility room has a sink and a tap, this area will be a breeding ground for bacteria. To clean your sink, fill it up with cold water and pour two caps of Zoflora concentrate into the liquid. Then take a cloth and dip it into the solution. Use the cloth to wipe down the tap and clean inside and around the sink. When you’re done let the water out and dry your sink and tap with a clean cloth.

7.      Wipe Down Counters

Some utility rooms have countertops that gather dust and fibres from clothing. You can easily disinfect your countertops by spraying Zoflora onto the surface and using a cloth to wipe it down thoroughly. It’s important to keep your countertops bacteria-free especially if you place clean clothes on them.

8.      Wash the Utility Room Floor

The last part of keeping your utility room bacteria-free is cleaning the floor. Your floor can get dirty especially if you spill water on its surface and walk through the puddles with your shoes. Follow these steps to keep your floor clean:

  • Fill a bucket with cold water
  • Add two caps of Zoflora concentrate
  • Dip your mop into the solution
